Baby Alfie: The CGI Superstar in the Making!
At our baby model agency, we always knew we had something special with our little stars, but even we were taken aback when Baby Alfie was shortlisted for an incredible project at Shepperton Studios, Pinewood, in Hertfordshire. It was a momentous occasion, and naturally, we thought, "This is it, Alfie’s big break!"
But as the saying goes, "There can only be one," and, well, Baby Alfie was THAT one.
On the day of the shoot, Alfie and his mum had what could only be described as a thrilling adventure in the world of cutting-edge technology, and let’s just say, it was nothing like your usual baby modelling gig. Instead of just posing for pictures, Alfie was to become a digital superstar.
This wasn’t your typical photoshoot; it was an assignment involving some seriously high-tech wizardry that would make even the Terminator jealous.
The shoot took place in a state-of-the-art photographic booth, and you could practically hear the hum of futuristic equipment
. Alfie, being the professional he is, had no problem sitting still (okay, maybe he wasn’t perfectly still—but who can blame him? He’s a baby!). His mum, ever the supportive stage mum, was right there by his side, guiding him to make all those cute little expressions that would later be captured for posterity.
Cue adorable smile!
But here’s where it gets wild:
Alfie’s facial and body scans were taken and fed into the kind of software that’s usually used for big blockbuster films like Terminator Genisys and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Yes, that’s right—Alfie’s very own likeness was being digitized for some seriously top-tier visual effects. The data was used by a team of brilliant VFX artists who created a digital CGI version of Alfie that could walk, talk, and, we imagine, probably even do the Macarena if they wanted.
"This was a fantastic experience at Pinewood Studios. The company we worked with were fantastic and so professional making sure we didn't run over time and tired out the little ones. It was fantastic to see all the hard work that does into the production and the amounts of people you work with in a team. It was a great experience to work with fantastic people - definitely a memory we will keep forever."
Now, you might be wondering: "How does this all work with a baby?"
Well, the magic happens when Alfie’s mum steps in and helps. In fact, she was crucial to capturing every one of Alfie’s adorable expressions. From giggles to pouts, she was there to help him nail the perfect face for the cameras.
The scans turned into a digital version of Alfie that was then animated, giving him the ability to do all sorts of things—things that only a CGI baby could do.
So, what does a day in the life of a CGI baby look like?
For Alfie, it was a mix of play, laughter, and getting transformed into something that could easily star in the next Star Wars movie. His mum helped guide him through the session, making sure he was happy and engaged while the technology worked its magic. By the end of the day, Alfie wasn’t just a baby model anymore—he was a star, ready to light up the screen in ways only computer-generated babies can.
But perhaps the best part of this story (aside from the paycheck, of course) is that Alfie was part of something truly extraordinary.
Who knew that a baby modelling gig could involve a facial scan and a future in CGI stardom? It’s the future, and Alfie is already a part of it. He may not have been in a Hollywood blockbuster just yet, but with the right amount of baby charm and technology, it’s not hard to imagine.
So, next time you see a CGI baby walking across your screen, just remember: it could be our very own Baby Alfie! And as for Alfie’s mum? Well, she’s definitely got a great story to tell at the next baby playdate. You know, just casually mentioning that her baby was scanned for a Star Wars movie. Just another day in the life of a baby model.
