There is no requirement to purchase professional images for the initial application. Fresh photographs in natural light, together with verified measurements, provide the practical information a casting team needs.

Different routes for different briefs

A production could take place on the South Coast, within the county, near London or elsewhere. For each request, compare the call time with the real journey from home. Motorway congestion, parking and the return trip can turn a suitable role into an exhausting day for a young child.

State travel limits honestly and update them if family circumstances change. Declining an unsuitable request does not prevent consideration for a better-matched opportunity.

Before leaving home

• Check whether the child is casting or already booked.
• Follow the client’s wardrobe and grooming notes.
• Pack familiar care items and quiet entertainment.
• Confirm the contact to use if travel is delayed.

Licences, payment and advertising use

Productions involving children may require documentation from parents and the relevant authority. Provide requested information promptly, but ask why it is needed if the purpose is unclear. Review the session rate, expenses and any additional payment for publication of images or footage.
